Stardust For Bowie

When David Bowie died, I realized that a lot of people were moved as if they knew him personally. But they could not express their sorrow because they obviously didn’t have access to his funerals. No tribute was possible for all these fans.

That’s why we had the idea of creating a constellation in Google Sky in which all fans could send a symbolic tribute directly to David.
This is how Stardust for Bowie was born.

There were plenty of tributes, but only one touched so many people’s lives.
Exactly one day after Bowie’s death, the Belgian radio station Studio Brussels launched « Stardust for Bowie », a constellation in the form of Bowie’s iconic thunderbolt to commemorate « The Starman ».
Thousands of fans attached their favorite Bowie song and a personal goodbye message to one of the stars within the constellation.
« Stardust for Bowie » became a symbol of Bowie’s legacy and went viral in a matter of hours.
After a few days we exceeded 2 million tweets but the greatest honor was when David Bowie’s best friend, Brian Eno, said that this tribute was the best Bowie possible.
